Players Charter
1

Act in a responsible manner and treat all players and coaches equally and with dignity and respect when representing the club

Play by the rules – the rules of your club and the laws of the game

Never argue with a referee or other official – without these people you can’t play football

Control your temper - verbal abuse of officials and abusing other players doesn’t help you enjoy or win any games

Be a team player – It’s a team game, treat it that way

Treat all players as you would like to be treated – fairly

Co-operate with your coach, the referees and team-mates

Don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability – you’ll let down your coach, team-mates and family if you do.

Pay fees for each Training session and Match day as agreed by the club

Supply proof of age (photocopy of birth certificate, passport)

Prepare for training and matches as stated by your section coach. (E.g. clean boots, appropriate studs for the playing surface, shinguards, drinks, no old firm team colours etc).

You will only play matches if you attend training. (Your section coach has final responsibility for the application of this rule. This can be wavered due to unforeseen circumstances)

If unable to attend a match or training session you should notify your coach by telephone

As a member of the club you are not permitted to play for another juvenile/ youth /pro youth football club. Regional and school football shall be at the discreation of the Jimmy Johnstone Academy although welcomed, but not if this activity contradicts with training or match preparation for the Jimmy Johnstone Academy in any way shape or form . Jimmy Johnstone Academy encourages school / pro youth / regional and national football for all.

The club welcomes approaches from senior clubs you should advise your coach of any approaches by other clubs . Jimmy Johnstone Academy shall release as a matter of course any player found playing or training for any senior / youth / school / regional squad without consent from Jimmy Johnstone Academy.

Take reasonable care for your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or not do. Correctly use all equipment provided by the club. Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for your health, safety or welfare
