Parents Charter

1. Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.

2. Recognise all volunteers who are giving up their valuable time

3. Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.

4. Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, referees and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated

5. Never publicly criticise referees –accept officials’ judgements, raise personal concerns with club officials in private

6. Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.

7. Never force your child to take part in sport.

8. Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performances of all.

9. Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.

10. Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

11. Use correct and proper language at all times, don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability – you’ll let down your family and yourself if you do

12. Encourage and guide performers to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.
