Club Constitution 7th day of January 2009

The club shall be called Jimmy Johnstone Academy (known as the Academy)
|

The club shall be affiliated to the Scottish Youth Football Association within Scotland
The club shall be affiliated to the Football Association within England
The club shall be affiliated to all Governing bodies within U.E.F.A.
The club shall be affiliated to all Governing bodies within F.I.F.A

Membership of the club shall be limited to team players, team officials, and the Management Committee. Membership shall not be refused on the grounds of sex, religious or political opinion, or occupation.

Its objects shall be to encourage and develop juveniles in the game of football as administered by the Scottish Youth F.A./ Football Association / all other Governing bodies within U.E.F.A and F.I.F.A. The property, effects, and funds of the club whencesoever’s derived, shall be applied towards the promotion of the club. Unless changed by the Executives or Trustees of the Jimmy Johnstone Academy

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held before the 1 August each year. The order of business shall be as follows:
5.1 Apologies.
5.2 Approvals of minutes of last AGM.
5.3 Club Secretaries report.
5.4 Club Treasurers report.
5.5 Auditors report.
5.6 Club Presidents report.
5.7 Proposals for alterations to rules.
5.7.1 Election of Office bearers and members of the committee.
5.7.2 Any other competent business.

An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) may be held at the discretion of the Management Committee; or at the written request, sent to the Secretary, of at least six members of the club.

Six members shall form a quorum at the AGM's and at the EGM's. Five members shall form a quorum at Management Committee. The chairman shall have deliberative as well as a casting vote at meetings. Unless overruled by the Trustees two number members.

The AGM and EGM of the club shall be called by notice served upon each member at least 10 days prior to the date of the meeting. The notice shall number the items of business in the order in which they are to be taken.

The office bearers of the club shall be elected each year at the AGM shall consist of
9.1 Club President.
9.2 Club Vice-President.
9.3 Club Secretary.
9.4 Club Treasurer.
9.5 Junior Section Convenor. (7-a-side teams)
9.6 Social/Fundraising Convenor.
9.7 All above named shall report to the Trustees of the club who shall have final say over all Jimmy Johnstone Academy matters / business

The affairs of the club shall be managed by committee to be elected each year at the AGM: ONLY TRUSTEES CAN VOTE FOR NEW AND FUTURE TRUSTEES

Management Committee consisting of: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Junior Section Convenor and one other member.

Members deemed to be elected office bearers, the team manager, and one assistant manager from each team within the club.

Management Committee meetings shall be held monthly. The order of business to be as follows:
13.1 Apologies.
13.2 Approval of minutes of last meeting.
13.3 Club Secretaries report.
13.4 Club Treasurers report.
13.5 Club Presidents report
13.6 Any other competent business.

The Management Committee shall have the power to:
14.1 Fill any vacancy occurring among Office Bearers in the Management Committee during that year.
14.2 Co-opt members onto the Management Committee if thought necessary.
14.3 Fix the amount of subscription for the season.
14.4 Frame such byelaws as may be necessary for the proper working of the club.
14.5 Define rules for use of club property.

The annual subscription shall become payable from 1 August and not later than 31 October in each year.

The Management Committee shall have the power to expel or suspend any member of the club, or any player, pending disciplinary hearing brought against the member or player for bringing the club or the game of football into disrepute:

The disciplinary procedure will be a hearing conducted within 14 days of the incident, where the member and/or representative will be given the opportunity to present their case in front of the Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee shall consist of Club management Committee, and if applicable player's team manager.

Motions to add to, or amend or rescind any of the forgoing sections of the constitution shall be made at a general meeting of the club. Notice of all such motions must be signed by four members of the club and sent to the Club Secretary on or before 15 June, who shall include such motions in the notice calling the meeting. No alterations can be made to the Constitution of the club except by two thirds of the members present at the meeting. DECISCIONS REGARDING TRUSTEES IS EXCLUDED AND NO ALTERATION MAY OCCUR WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE TRUSTEES.

If, upon the winding up or dissolution of the club, there remains after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities, any property whatsoever, the same shall be given or transferred to some other organisation or organisations having objects similar to the objects of the club. Such organisation or organisations to be determined by the members of the club by resolution passed at a General meeting at or before the time of dissolution, and in so far as effect cannot be given to such a provision, then to some charitable object.

Team Structures Season 2009 /10 and Beyond General principles:

21.1 The objective of the club is to strive for and develop our own football Academy of excellence and install in to all our teams whilst developing the boys / Coaches as sportsmen. This applies to all teams / Coaches and all age groups. We shall endeavour to purchase our own ground and develop this to a standard worthy of the Jimmy Johnstone Academy along with a lasting tribute in time to come in honour of Jimmy Johnstone Lisbon Lion and Greatest Celtic FC player ever
21.2 7 a-side teams
21.3 Jimmy Johnstone Academy will run 7 a-side teams at the early age groups. The combined player pool will enable the club to produce quality 11 a-side teams, which should be focused on entering a league at each age group.
21.4 Jimmy Johnstone Academy 7 a-side teams should be focused on excellence by seeking out the best coaches and best players available.
21.5 Jimmy Johnstone Academy 7 a-side teams should be based on one pool of players at each age group. Team selection should be based on player development with the individual coaches at each age group working together to provide the best opportunities for each player to develop. This process will be overseen by the Junior Convenor.
21.6 11 a-side teams
21.7 Jimmy Johnstone Academy will have at least one 11 a-side team in each age group.
21.8 Jimmy Johnstone Academy 11 a-side teams should be focused on excellence by seeking out the best Coaches, developing our existing players and bringing in new players to enhance the teams as necessary.
21.9 Jimmy Johnstone Academy 11 a-side teams will continue to focus on player development, football excellence and development of the boys as ambassadors of the club.

Note 1: Jimmy Johnstone Academy players / coaches will support all age levels along with given support to mixed age group players playing / training together when asked. Players / Coaches shall support Jimmy Johnstone Academy teams from around the world along with associate member teams from Scotland and on a world wide basis.
Players from a younger age group may be called upon to play at an older age group to help with his or her development. Coaches / players shall support and be involved with a Jimmy Johnstone Academy Scotland or a World select team this shall also include any associate member team being involved
Note 2: Willie Haughey OBE dtec and James Anthony Simmonette have the right to use the name Jimmy Johnstone for the Academy and together if they deem to see fit that the name of Jimmy Johnstone Academy being abused in any form they shall have the right to remove the name of Jimmy Johnstonefrom this club known as Jimmy Johnstone Academy. The Jimmy Johnstone Academy players / coaches and officials shall endeavour to up hold the name of Jimmy Johnstone at all times.
Note 3: Jimmy Johnstone Academy shall encourage young people from the age of 14yrs to become involved in learning to coach younger children whilst being supervised. This practice shall be introduced at all age groups above 14yrs.
Note 4: Patrons for the club shall be Willie Haughey OBE dtec, Berti Auld Lisbon Lion ex Celtic and Scotland player. If either Willie Haughey OBE dtec or Berti Auld Lisbon Lion ex Celtic and Scotland player wish for other named Patrons then they shall be entitled to do so unchallenged from any official / Coach or player within the Jimmy Johnstone Academy.
Note 5: In the absence of James Anthony Simmonette His say / vote shall stand with James Martin and in his absence James Martin’s vote shall stand with James Anthony Simmonette.
